I usually paint on the emotions I have, and I wondered if I could use painting to embrace new more productive emotions to help me conquer my problems. I focused on Empowerment, hoping to feel stronger on completion.
This painting brought out power, strength, and is full of energy. I learn about myself through painting, and it shows me I can take control of my life.
There is positivity in the painting, and it makes me feel stronger when I look at it, but for me, it’s not quite empowerment.
These paintings are helping me understand that my PTSD doesn’t have to rule me, that I can feel better if I want to!
Painted in acrylics on ½ inch thick chip board. I love the effect this wood gives to the paintings. No pre-planning – Using only my brushes to manipulate the paint, I let my feeling and focus lead the colours and movements that created this piece.
